Markings are the patterns wajas have on their fur coat. Some markings are only available when making a Custom Waja or through a Markings Pear. Other markings are available only as a Dye to be added at any time. There are now a number of markings which are available as both custom markings and dye markings. See the full list below.

Markings Overview
Wajas get their markings through one of four ways:
- Wajas will inherit markings from their parents. If their parents share the marking it will be inherited strongly, whereas if they do not share the marking or if they both have the marking at a low strength it will be inherited at a low strength. Its color will depend on the color of the marking in its parents.
- Using a Dye on a waja will add the marking of the dye to the waja. You may choose the strength and color of these markings when you place the dye.
- Using a Markings Pear on a waja will add a random marking of a random color on a random layer at a random strength to the waja. Extremely unpredictable.
- When creating a Custom Waja with a Token the user may choose the marking as well as its color and strength to put on the waja. This is the only way to get Custom Markings on a waja besides inheriting it from their parents.
Marking Strength
Marking strength is represented by a number between 1 and 100. This number refers to the opacity at which the marking is set. A 100 mark will be at 100% opacity and fully opaque, whereas a 10 mark will be at 10% opacity and barely visible at all.
A waja with a marking that is below 100% strength is referred to as a "Fade" if it is attractive and a "Muddy" if it is unattractive. Some users make projects out of taking a waja with faded markings and trying to breed it with other wajas until they eventually end up with an offspring with 100% markings. Other users feed a waja many markings pears, giving the waja all the Custom Markings, or as many as the user pleases. Wajas that have been given all the Custom Markings in this way are called "Pearballs". Wajas that have been given a great deal of Dye markings are dubbed "Dyeballs".
Marking Inheritance
When two wajas are bred together, the markings they share will be passed on to their pup at a strength that is between the strength of the marking in the two parents. Markings that are not shared between the two will be passed on at a random opacity between 0%-100%. It is known that either end of the spectrum is rare, and you are more likely to get an opacity between 30% and 70%. This information has recently been updated with a script change in 2016 where it used to be 0% breeding with a 100% would equal 10%-30%. Marking strength in the pup will never be inherited at a higher opacity than its parents possessed, so there is no way to breed two wajas with a marking at 50 and get a pup whose marking is higher than 50.
100 x 0: 100 - 0
50 x 50: 50
100 x 100: 100
The color of the marking will be determined by the color of the marking in the parents and the love pear used. If an Ancient Love Pear was used, the marking will be roughly the median color between the color of the marking in the parents. If a Love Pear was used, the marking could be any color in the spectrum between the two parents' colors. If only one parent had the marking, the pup will have the marking in roughly the same color as the parent.
If both parents have the same markings, but in a different layering, the layering pattern will follow the mother.
Rainbow Markings
Markings can be made to have a rainbow gradient rather than a solid color by putting the word RAINBOW in the hex code box when applying the marking. Rainbow Markings were previously glitches, but were so well liked that they were added as a regular feature.
Chrome Markings
Similarly to rainbow markings, once released, markings will be able to have a grayscale gradient rather than a solid color by putting the work CHROME in the hex code box when applying the marking.
List of Markings
Custom Only Markings
Custom Only Marking refers to markings that can only be put on a waja when creating a custom or, in some cases, randomly with a Markings Pear.
Dye Only Markings
Dye Only Markings refer to markings that can only be put on a waja through use of a Dye. Dyes can be put on any waja at any time, are permanent, and are inherited in the same way that Custom Markings are.
Special Cases
These markings are available when creating a custom, but also exist as dyes. Most are OOS Dyes but there are a few exceptions that are located in the Dye Shop.
Exclusive Markings
Cannot be created via create a custom or dyes, however the markings are available through special means.
