In August of 2014, the site held a raffle for two wajas as part of its ongoing fundraising efforts. This raffle was particularly noteworthy as it was the first of its kind. The raffle was run through the Wajas Raffle Team account, #12. This was a previously frozen account owned by Ken. Using the user shop of account 12, the site sold two different raffle tickets, [[Raffle Ticket Red]] and [[Raffle Ticket Blue]], each corresponding to the raffle for a different waja. The blue tickets cost 1 [[CWP]] each and were for the custom custom Diana and her [[Dipat]] [[custom patch]] item. The red tickets were 500,000 [[WC]] each and where for a [http://www.wajas.com/waja.php?id=2959578| glitched Divine]. The red tickets sold out very quickly and a second batch was added. It was also announced via the news that the tickets would turn into items after the auction ended, so everyone who bought a ticket would get something.

The raffles were very successful, and winners were announced on August 27. Aerials are a dominant breed of feathered wajas. Their tongue is proboscis-like, and small tufts of feathers decorate their ears, shoulders, and legs. They have talon-like feet rather than paws.

[[Aerial]]s are ranked 2 in the dominance chart, below Normals, and roughly equivalent to Banes.

[[African]]s are the only breed of wajas depicted fully face on. They have two tails, and large ears inspired by the wild african dog.

[[Bane]]s are a vicious breed of wajas, intended to be released in time for Halloween 2008. They are supposed to be a scarier breed than the others. This breed is highly dominant as would be expected for a brand-new breed, roughly equal to aerials. This breed was originally designed by Ankokou.

The [[Corsie]] is modeled after a small dog breed, and appears to be looking happily at the user. It has a short, docked tail and semi-floppy ears, with big eyes. It has an apparent smile, and is lifting one foot up.

[[Divine]]s are the rarest and most expensive of the waja breeds. They fall at the lowest position on the dominance chart. The difficulty in breeding divines, combined with the extreme rarity of divine custom tokens makes them amongst the highest-priced wajas available. Divines are regal wajas with wings, horns, and a pair of long whiskers like an asiatic dragon.

Divine tokens are available one day each year. On July 3, starting at 9am, gold and silver divine tokens go on sale in the token shop for 24 hours. These tokens cost 50/60 CWP each, are limited to two per person, and are "locked" until divine day ends - you cannot use a Divine token until the 24 hours is up.

Fun and playful, the [[Earth]] breed is noted for having hooves instead of paws. These hooves are the same color as the waja's body, and are sometimes unaffected by markings that would normally cover the paws.

Stunning and sleek, the [[egyptian]] breed is based off the pharaoh hound. Bracelets and collars take on a different appearance when equipped to egyptian wajas. Collars become golden torques with gems set in the centre, while the bracelets become golden cuffs.

[[Fire]] wajas are long, sleek wajas with flaming paws. They have three short, fluffy tails. The color of the flames is determined by the waja's eye color.

[[Imp]]s are based on a mix of a rat and an imp, a mischievous being, and was even released as an example of a rat. Imps seem to be landing from a jump on their front feet, and are smiling as if looking at the user. The imp has a long, spiked tail, and almost talon-like clawed feet.

The [[Normal]] was the first breed released on Wajas. It is the breed that Apollo, the site mascot, is. This is the most common waja, and the most dominant.

== [[Plushie]] ==

[[Plushie]]s are made only when a plastic waja (from the Fish-a-Waja game) is used on a waja, creating a plushie waja. These plushie wajas are made to resemble plush toys, and have a stitched smile with glass eyes. They are posed in a way that looks almost like it is stretching by moving it's front legs out farther and moving the back legs up. Recently, the Plushie breed had undertaken a new shading, with more defined lines and slightly different eyes.

New shading was added for the Plushie breed on July 20, 2013. A comparison between the previous shading and the current shading is shown below, and a sample of the original shading has also been added.

[[Spitz]] are the most recently added breed, just 2 months after the Imp. They are modeled after the Keeshond dog breed, and are very fluffy. They have a long, fluffy curled tail, short muzzles, and semi-short legs. They are smiling and appear to be happy. Spitz are in a sitting pose, with their head moved in closer to their chest just a little.

== [[Tempest]] ==

[[Tempest]]s are a wind breed, hence the name tempest. They are standing and looking with their head flipped back, as if something was behind them. They have curls all over their fur, symbolizing wind running through their coat.

[[Water]] wajas are serpentine and curled in a C shape. They are commonly striped/streaked with a line down their middle. Water wajas can be obtained by using a frog item on any other waja, which will turn said waja in to a water waja. You can also get a water waja from just buying one from another player or from making a custom one.

== [[Breedless]] ==

Believed to be caused when the staff deleted custom Divines that were created from bug abuse. This caused the deleted parent to be removed from the lineage. Most Wajas were born with a breed and were simply missing a parent (mostly the father) (eg. ID [http://www.wajas.com/waja.php?id=8379 8379]), and were called 'Jesus Wajas' because they had no father and were thus, an immaculate conception. The "breedless" glitch happened when the pup's breed was supposed to be passed down from the non-existent parent. Since there was nothing there, the coding took 0 as the breed and the Waja was essentially "breedless."

Due to their popularity, they were kept in the game instead of being fixed. Their waja image appears blank due to their lack of a breed image to call on, and no [[accessories]] or [[foregrounds]] work on them. However, [[Wallpapers]] do work on them, and Breedless wajas are often used by players to show off an unobstructed view of a wallpaper.

[[Breedless]] can be bred but are a non-dominant breed, just above Divines on the dominance chart.

Each day, players could visit Santa Apollo and click the "What's My Gift?" button to receive a gift. If a player returned to the Santa Apollo page after claiming a gift for that day, they would instead be met with a message stating "You already got your gift for today!".

There are 14 different types of [[breeds]] and many different [[markings]]. On top of all this, however, people have created extra sub-breeds. They are wajas, possibly of a specific breed, with a set of distinguishable markings, colors or attributes that make them part of the agenda to become a sub breed.

There are countless amounts of sub breeds and most of them have been carefully created, with different breedings and markings before they are at a finished product, but many of them are constantly shifting and changing as people find things that look better.

== Flood ==

[[File:Flood waja.png|thumb|Gravemind, the main flood waja.]]Flood wajas are particularly popular, based off of the Flood from the Halo games. The 'Flood' is a parasite that burrows into the chest of a host and changes the body into what's described as a decayed looking monster. Flood wajas are determined by their colors more than anything else, as they can be any breed whatsoever and they can have any markings/mutations, as long as they are mainly within the agenda of what the forum says 'dominant colors' are. The most dominant should be green at all times. Green, brown and black are acceptable, and if used in small amounts, yellow and red are allowed as well. Other colors are only acceptable in the case where they can't be seen, whether they are buried under other markings or so faded that they simply just don't show up. The Flood sub breed and club was started by Mitexi (#11423).

== Galaxy ==

Galaxy wajas are what they say on the tin - Wajas that resemble something you might see in space. They generally have a black base, with blue and purple colors. The only agendas they have are that the waja must have the mud and side stripe markings, and no [[mutations]] besides the mane. This sub-breed isn't breed specific, as any breed of Waja is allowed. == Horse ==

[[File:Earth horse.png|thumb|left|An Earth horse waja.]]Horse Wajas are another commonly found sub-breed. The breed 'specification' states that the wajas must be [[Earth]] or [[Egyptian]] and they must also be all natural colors, as they are based off of real life horses rather than something from a cartoon. The creator of the breed and/or club is Misteria Fire Wolf.
Earths are generally used for heavy breeds with feathered legs. They are used commonly for horses as thay actually have hooves rather than paws.

== Foxes ==

[[File:Fox tempest.png|thumb|A fox Tempest.]]Fox wajas are basically wajas that resemble a real life Fox. The 'Fox Breeding Project' has recently been rejuvinated and is as popular as ever. They are generally only found in real life colors, but it isn't uncommon to get oddly colored wajas that have markings that resemble a fox. Usually, they are orange, white and black, and quite often are [[Tempest]] or [[Aerial]] as they most resemble the body shape of a fox, but they can be many other breeds as well. There is no particular breed specification for the fox wajas.

== Sabers ==

[[File:Hitomi Saber.png|thumb|left|Hitomi, the first Saber waja.]]Sabers are the oldest sub breed on Wajas, predating even the site itself. They were available as forum adoptables on Ponyisland before the creation of Wajas as a standalone site.

In order to qualify as full sabers, wajas must have Belly Spots and Back Spots markings along with the Mane, Saber Fangs and Leg Feathers [[mutations]]. This makes full saber customs a rarity, because they are obtainable only by use of a [[Mutation Pear]]. They can have any color scheme, as long as Back Spots are the darkest color and Belly Spots the lightest. All breeds are admissible but [[Normal]] is the most common. Wajas who lack mutations or have extras are known as partial Sabers.

[http://www.wajas.com/waja.php?id=33 Hitomi] is the very first Saber and can be found in [[Estuko]]'s cave. The newly revived Saber Wajas Club is being run by [http://www.wajas.com/profile.php?id=66692 DragonBlack], who also owns the club mascot, a full saber custom named Ronin.

== Taffy ==

[[File:Laffy taffy.png|thumb|left|Laffy Taffy, the original Taffy waja.]]Taffy Wajas are one of the more specific breeds. Any waja that wishes to be classed as a Taffy Waja must follow a specific Taffy design, but there is a 'cousin' breed known as Taffy Kin Wajas.
The Taffy Waja must have these markings in this specific order: Zebra, Cheetah, Hood, Large Dorsal Streak, Small Dorsal Streak, and Trident. The Cheetah, Hood, and Large Dorsal Streak must ALWAYS be FFFFFF - Pure white, to stay in the correct spirit of Taffys. They can be any breed, but the vast majority of them are [[Normal]]. == Regal Symphony ==

The Regal Symphony Waja must have these markings in this specific order: Giraffe, Belly Swirl, Songbird, Collar, Eye Shadow, Forehead, Chin Spot, Blaze, Wind. They must also have visible Tri Wings. == Wildsong ==

[[File:Wildsong.png|thumb|left|Wildsong, the original Wildsong waja.]]Wildsong wajas are a sub-breed which have been around for quite a long time, and their popularity often waxes and wanes. Wildsongs can be found in multiple breeds, although [[Normal]]s are most common. As explained by the creator and propogator of the Wildsong sub-breed, a "perfect" Wildsong waja is one that has the exact same markings as the original Wildsong, at the exact same percents, and in the exact same colors. It must also have the exact same base and eye color, and carry or show all of his mutations. Any additional markings or mutations (including carried) invalidates a waja as a Wildsong. The markings can be in any order, and the waja can be any breed. Anything other than this invalidates a waja from being a part of the Wildsong sub-breed.

A "technical" Wildsong is one which have perfect markings, colors and percentages, but which show leg feathers, mane or prehistoric horns. The original Wildsong is owned by [http://www.wajas.com/profile.php?id=32326 Wolf loves Wildsong! (32326)].

[http://www.wajas.com/profile.php?id=32326 Wolf loves Wildsong! (32326)] eventually stopped breeding Wildsongs, and has quit the game of Wajas. According to the notice in their main cave, this decision was due to a large community backlash about the breeding practices used to create Wildsongs (many Wildsongs, to keep within the exact parameters, were inbred).
