Gender of a waja can be either male or female. Waja's genders are listed at the top right hand of their profile page. In order to breed wajas, you will need two adult wajas (at least 20 days old) of opposite gender (one female, the other male).
Changing a Wajas Gender
You can change the gender of your waja by using a Gender Pear. When used, this will immediately change the waja's gender to the opposite of what it currently is. Males will become female, and females will become male.
Gender Pears cannot be used on pregnant wajas. There used to be a glitch where this was possible, but it has long since been corrected.
Gender Distribution
Female wajas are far more common than male wajas because breeding two wajas with a low Male Gene stat will mostly result in female pups. In order to get more male pups to be born, one must raise the parents' Male Gene stat.
Despite the fact that males are less common, most users do not price wajas differently based on gender. Gender pears are fairly affordable, so most users feel they can simply gender pear the waja to the gender they prefer. This is also the reason that most users do not raise the Male Gene stat of non-custom wajas.
