Male Gene, more commonly known as MG, is a stat that determines what percentage of the waja's offspring will be born male. The higher the MG, the higher the likelihood of male pups, to a maximum value of 100.
- Breeding two wajas that both have 100 MG will result in only male offspring (never female).
- Conversely, breeding two wajas who both have 0 MG will result in only female offspring (never male).
If the parents have different MG values (such as breeding a waja with an MG of 100 with one who has an MG of 0), the game will take both into account when determining the gender of the pups.
MG, like all stats, is inherited by the waja's pups. If the mother has the higher MG stat, the pups will get an MG that is averaged between the MG of both parents. If the father has the higher MG, the pups will get the MG of the mother.
Increasing MG
You can raise the MG of a Waja 1 to 3 points at a time by feeding him or her Male Pears. You can also raise it by 1 point at a time by feeding the waja Red Candy. There is currently no way to lower a waja's MG.
Tips
Most players give their customs an MG of 50, since breeding two waja's who both have an MG of 50 generally results in an even mix of male and female pups. For male pups 100% of the time, raise both parent's MG to 100. For female pups 100% of the time, leave both parent's MG at 0.
Note that if you only plan to breed a waja once or twice it may be more cost effective to simply use a Gender Pear on pups you want to be male rather than buying the number of Male Pears it would require to get the waja's MG to 50.
