The Demonic Book was the first Gift for Activity given out to users following the rollback and downtime during Fall 2008, given out on December 12 to all players active since December 7. The release of the book struck some players as odd because it was an obviously non-holiday-themed item that was released during the holiday season. In the news post regarding the release of the book, Estuko wrote: "Heh.. Isnt that a nice, festive type present for the holidays? Har Har Har."
