Userheld Auctions

From The Wajas Wiki

Users are able to hold auctions for wajas, items and accounts on the Forums. These auctions are usually found on the Sales board, or on either the Waja/Item Sale boards.

Auctioning Rules

Users are allowed to make rules relating to how their auctions are run, however all auctions must comply with the following forum rule:

You must also follow through with auctions and contests you make. You may not cancel a contest once you have received entries unless you have stated from the very start you are requiring a specific minimum number of entries. You may not cancel an auction unless you state you reserve the right to do so from the start, and you must cancel the auction prior to the end time. If the end time passes with no cancellation or extension, and there are active bids, it is the same as selling it, and you must deliver what you promised.

Auctioning Terms

These are some commonly used terms found on userheld auctions:

  • SB
SB stands for Starting Bid. This is the minimum amount required to begin bidding on the auction. When running auctions, players may use SB when referring to the starting price. If another player posts SB, this means that they are bidding the starting amount set out by the player running the auction.
  • Minimum Increase
The minimum increase tells you how much more you need to bid on top of the current bid, in order for your bid to be accepted.
  • AB
AB stands for "autobuy" which is the price that the player running the auction will automatically accept for the auction. Often, the autobuy price is set quite high, higher than the player expects the auction to reach. Once a player has bid the autobuy price the auction ends immediately.

Auction Ettiquette

Some players do not allow "snipers", and you may see rules in auction threads which include "snipe" protection. This usually involves adding a certain amount of time to the given end time of the auction, every time a bid is placed within a certain timeframe of the auction ending. This is often to prevent people from waiting until the very end of the auction to bid, in hopes of getting the content(s) of the auction for a lower price.

If multiple players post at the same time, it is up to the person holding the auction to decide which bid they accept. Generally, the bid which appears first will be accepted. Arguing with the player running the auction may lead to intervention by a moderator.
