Lunaria is the name given to the world that the wajas and users of the site inhabit. It is a vaguely earth-like world with many different climates and regions, as well as three moons orbiting around it.

Locations

The major regions of Lunaria and their descriptions are as follows.

Sirius Mountain

With its high altitude and strong winds, Sirius Mountain is the best place in Lunaria for stargazing. According to legend, Divines come from stars that fall from the sky during a particular time of year. This has made the mountain the traditional home of Divines.

Lycadia Woods

The Lycadia Forest is very old. The trees have grown tall with such large canopies that very little light hits the forest floor. Just as the trees compete for sunlight, Banes can also be competitive in their hunt for resources. They can see well in low light, and rumor has it that some of them maybe be able to climb trees!

Zairu Hills

The only known "invented" breed, Aerials were created by the mad scientist, who genetically engineered them using bird DNA and released them into the Zairu Hills to see how they would affect the landscape. They soon became the dominant predator, both in the air and on the land.

Aiga City

Aiga City is the thriving capital of Lunaria. More than half the population is made up of Normals, so called because they were the first to be discovered. While Aiga City is very densely populated, there are many parks and trails that are frequented by this often gregarious breed.

Kaliska Savannah

Kaliska is home to the African breed of waja. Their large ears help them to dissipate the heat of the summer, which blows in from the Amara Desert. In the winter, the winds change and the rains fall, turning the dry savannah into a lush and green, if temporary, paradise.

Amara Desert

The thin skin, short fur, and long legs of the Egyptians makes them well suited to th e often extreme heat of the Amara Desert, while leaving them vulnerable to colder climates. In this perpetually warm environment flies are a constant menace, which has led to the Egyptians using their long, tufted tails to swat them away, much like wildebeests.

Walohi Oasis

Imps are very magical and special wajas. They can use their magic to spite or give fortune. The originated in a small oasis in the desert, but live all over Lunaria. The ones who live in the forest are not as nice as the ones living in the oasis.

Hyrion Ocean

Water wajas breathe air, but spend most of their time in the water. They can hold their breaths for an extended period of time. Because of their short legs and fin tail, they are awkward on land.

Atali Island

Atali Island is a rather difficult place to reach because of the high winds the Tempests create. The winds are so strong they blow the island, making it spin in a perpetual whirlpool.

Aluli Island, Land of Volcanoes

Fire Wajas' have an elemental stone inside their bodies. This stone makes their feet constantly burn. Their homes are caves inside of volcanoes, and they need the fire to help them walk on magma. You can tell what color their eyes are by looking at thef ire on their feet!

Pearadise

Corsie live in Pearadise. They are very happy and friendly wajas. They are hard workers and help guard the pear tree as well as making sure everyone gets their bonus barn item. They are very generous and helpful.

Aramelle Fields

Earth wajas spend their time in the fields and on the ground. They love to run and DJ at rock concerts. They are very active and always need something to do. They love plants and trees so you will never find them far away from nature.

Shiam Mountain

Due to the frigid climate and long winters of the Shiam Mountains where they originated, the Spitz developed a thick double coat, small ears, and a stout stature to help conserve body heat. They even have thick fur between their foot pads to help keep their feet warm! The mountains' limited resources, harsh climate, and fierce wildlife have made most Spitz good at living and working together.

Magical Radioactive Kingdom

A very long time ago, when the mad scientist was first experimenting with radioactivity, he found the perfect ingredient to make plastic glow a brilliant green. Unfortunately, any waja exposed to this becomes a living toy due to unforeseen magical forces.

Lupus Luna

There have been rumors of invisible wajas that live on the moon. Many scoff, but there has been one confirmed case of an invisible waja that may very well have come from Lupus Luna. He has interbred with the general population and has created what we now know as the "breedless".

The Mining Caves

These caves are the most popular place to dig. Because of the sheer popularity of the site, only one waja per cave is allowed to come and dig here. You can find all kinds of treasures. Good luck!

Unknown Locations/Easter Eggs

The interactive flash map of the world has a few strange potential results when clicking around or messing with the player.

When clicking the land mass southeast of Atali Island you get a page that is black except for several pairs of glowing yellow eyes that fade away when you mouse over them. If you click one of the pairs of eyes, you get a pure black page with the location marked as "???????" and the description reading "It is pitch black. Maybe this is all a dream. And maybe you will wake up. Maybe."

If instead of clicking on of the pairs of eyes you right click the image and choose "play" (there is probably a more direct way to access this page, such as clicking somewhere on the world map or in one of the other locations), you are taken to a page with "????" as the location. The Beach Cave Wallpaper serves as the background, but there is no waja in the image and the description merely reads "Where are you? You do not remember coming here. Or waking up here. You are just here. Perhaps this is all a dream." On the ground of the cave is a large black hole. If you click this hole you find a black page that says only "There is nothing here".

The World Naming Contest

On May 13th, 2012 a news post was made announcing that the wajas world was going to become more fleshed out. This news post included a design for the world of wajas, but noted that it lacked a name. A contest was announced inviting users to come up with a name for the wajas world. The prize was to be a fully customized custom patch (which had never before been offered to the general user base) which could be placed on an existing waja or on a new gold or silver Token Shop custom provided by the site and designed by the winning user.

A thread was posted for users to submit their entries on, and on May 27th nine potential names were chosen by the staff and put to a vote. The names were not credited to the submitting user in the poll to try to avoid people voting for a name based on its submitter rather than the name itself. The names that made it into the poll were as follows:

  • Pearadise
  • Elnith
  • Lunaria
  • Walohi
  • Cerriss
  • Sirius
  • Atali
  • Kaliska
  • Aluli

On June 4th the winning entries were announced.

  • 1st Place - Lunaria (submitted by user 7187)
  • 2nd Place - Sirius (submitted by user 162824)
  • 3rd Place - Pearadise (submitted by user 1025)
