Aerial

Aerial is a dominant breed of feathered wajas. Its tongue is proboscis-like, and small tufts of feathers decorates its ears, shoulders, and legs. It has talon-like feet rather than paws.
It is currently ranked 5 in the dominance chart, and roughly equivalent to Bane, Egyptian and Spitz.
African

African is the only breed of wajas depicted fully face on. It has two tails, and large ears inspired by the wild african dog.

Bane

Bane is a vicious breed of wajas, intended to be released in time for Halloween 2008. It is supposed to be a scarier breed than the others. This breed was highly dominant at the time of its release, and currently sits at about the same rank as Aerial, Egyptian and Spitz. This breed was originally designed by Ankokou.
Breedless

Breedless is the only breed to have been created by a bug, and can only be obtained through breeding with another waja. It was kept on the site due to its popularity.
Breedless is the only breed to have been created by a bug that occurred when staff deleted custom Divines created through bug abuse. This caused the deleted parent to be removed from the lineage. Most Wajas were born with a breed and were simply missing a parent (mostly the father) (eg. ID 8379), and were called 'Jesus Wajas' because they had no father, and were thus termed an immaculate conception. The "breedless" glitch happened when the pup's breed was supposed to be passed down from the non-existent parent. Since there was nothing there, the coding took 0 as the breed and the Waja was essentially "breedless."
Due to its popularity, it was kept instead of being fixed. Its waja image is blank due to the lack of a breed image to call on. It used to be that no Accessories, Foregrounds or Midgrounds could be equipped to them, with only Wallpapers working. However, due to player creativity in displaying their collections, this has been changed. To this day, Breedless wajas are used by players to show off a dress-up.
Breedless can only be obtained through breeding with another waja, and currently rank high on the dominance chart, just below Normal.
Corsie

Corsie is modeled after the corgi dog breed, and appears to be looking happily at the player. It has a short, docked tail and semi-floppy ears, with big eyes. It has an apparent smile, and is lifting one foot up.
Divine

Divine is one of the rarest and most expensive waja breeds, falling at the lowest rank on the dominance chart along with Arctic and Forest. The difficulty in breeding Divines, combined with the extreme rarity of Divine custom tokens, makes it one of the highest-priced breeds available. Divine has a regal bearing with its wings, horns, and a pair of long whiskers resembling an Asiatic dragon.
Divine tokens are available one day each year. On July 3, starting at 9am, gold and silver divine tokens go on sale in the token shop for 24 hours. These tokens cost 50/60 CWP each, are limited to two per person, and are "locked" until divine day ends - you cannot use a Divine token until the 24 hours are up.
Earth

Fun and playful, the Earth breed is noted for having hooves instead of paws. These hooves are the same color as the waja's body, and are sometimes unaffected by markings that would normally cover the paws.
Egyptian

Stunning and sleek, the Egyptian breed is based off the pharaoh hound. Bracelets and collars take on a different appearance when equipped to an Egyptian: collars become golden torques with gems set in the center, while the bracelets become golden cuffs.
Fire

Fire is a long, sleek waja breed with flaming paws. It has three short, fluffy tails. The color of its paw flames, which used to be determined by the waja's eye color, now instead depends on the recently added Misc. Color.
Forest

Forest is a more stout and hardy breed, with short legs and a large body. It has vines growing from its fur and bark up its legs, as though it may be both a plant and an animal. The colour of the flowers on its behind is determined by its Misc. Color, which was a new trait created for this breed's release (and also ended up being applied to a few other breeds, including Fire.
Imp

Imp is based on a mix of a rat and an imp, a mischievous being, and was even released as an example of a rat. The Imp seems to be landing from a jump on its front legs, and is smiling as if looking at the player. The Imp has a long, spiked tail, and almost talon-like clawed feet.

The Normal was the first breed released on Wajas. It is the breed of the site mascot Apollo. This is the most common waja, and the most dominant.
Plushie

Plushie is made to resemble a plush toy, and has a stitched smile with glass eyes. It is posed in a way that makes it look like it is stretching, with its front legs out farther and its back legs moved up.
On July 20th 2013, the Plushie breed has had its shading adjusted, with more defined lines and slightly different eyes. A comparison between the previous and current versions is featured below, along with a sample of the original shading.
Spitz

Spitz is modeled after the Keeshond dog breed, and is very fluffy. It has a long, fluffy curled tail, a short muzzle, and semi-short legs. It is smiling and appears to be happy. The Spitz is in a sitting pose, with its head tucked in close to its chest. The breed was released only two months after the Imp.
Tempest

Tempest is a wind breed, hence the name. It is standing with its head turned to face its back, as if something is behind it. Its fur features curls all over it, symbolizing the wind running through its coat.
Velox

Velox is a breed loosely based on desert foxes. It is small, quick and clever. It currently ranks very high on the dominance chart, below only Normal.
Water

Water is a serpentine breed with a body curled in a C shape. It is commonly striped/streaked with a line down its middle. Water wajas can be obtained by using a Frog item on any waja of a different breed. It is also obtainable through the use of a custom token.
